We're hiring! An additional position has opened for a Level 3 Network Engineer to join our ISP team. We’re seeking a dynamic highly skilled professional to join our team.

THE ROLE
As the leader of this team, you are responsible for building and sustaining our project delivery capability and are the Subject Matter Expert of all items Network & Security. You are the leading member of the ISP team, you will need to demonstrate thought leadership, a high level ability to self co-ordinate and time manage, help guide, grow, manage and support a fast growing ISP network and data centre assets. Further, your skill and background will allow you to deliver hands-on technical advice, support and leadership to an array of different businesses and their network environments.
This role also favours a diverse technical networking skillset to manage and grow the ISP/data centre assets of Centra as well as the ability to perform service provisioning, initiate opportunities for improvement and analytical problem solving. Previous experience working in the Managed Services environment is a plus but not essential.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5yrs demonstrable industry experience
- Maintenance of existing networking infrastructure to a high level across pops and data centres
- Ability to manage service provider networks and work with a variety of carriers
- Great customer service with an attitude of willing to please and succeed
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues and work with other team members to identify and resolve related infrastructure issues.
- Effective vendor engagement to optimise outcomes
- Participate in mentoring, knowledge sharing and advice to wider organisations
- Programming/scripting ability desirable
- Developed interpersonal, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Be an independent person who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to be hands-on and perform tasks of all levels of complexity, when required
You will need to have experience with -
- Telco/ISP Networking
- Routing - BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IS-IS
- Switching – VLANS, Spanning Tree
- NBN, Fibre, DSL
- SDWAN, Failover technologies
- Cisco, Mikrotik, Linux, Ansible
- Scripting Knowledge- Perl, PHP, Python, Powershell desirable
- Knowledge of SIP-based PBX Systems
- working knowledge of VOIP (SIP, NAT etc)
We don’t expect you to have the following application knowledge but you will be required to quickly adapt to the following:
- Connectwise
- IT Glue
- Auvik
- Zabbix, MRTG, PRTG
