This opportunity exists for a senior Occupational Therapist with a strong interest in mental health rehabilitation to join the Macquarie Hospital Occupational Therapy Team. Our team has a strong commitment and focus on providing recovery-orientated, trauma informed & innovative approaches to supporting consumers in a mental health rehabilitation setting . As part of the Occupational Therapy team, you will work collaboratively with consumers, carers, members of the multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for our consumers. We are looking for a candidate who will uphold the core values of NSW health inclusive of; Openness, Collaboration, Respect and Empowerment and be committed to the provision of OT services and activities across the wider hospital.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Qualification recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and demonstrated experience as an Occupational Therapist Level 2 or above.
- Demonstrated extensive skills and experience working with people with complex, enduring mental health challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver evidence based, recovery focused interventions to meet the needs of a broad consumer population in a mental health inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement and innovation projects.
