Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Accountant to join their team to drive site operations best practice from a finance perspective. This is a permanent opportunity, primarily based in our Perth Corporate Office with regular visits to their site (fortnightly travel)
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the operations team, the successful incumbent will ensure effective best practice of the month end accounting procedures on site, leading to accurate completion of management and operational reports as well as a strong focus on cost productivity initiatives from an operational standpoint
The opportunity:
- Responsible for the month end process accounting procedures on site
- Running cost review meetings with key operational stakeholders
- Lead the analysis process and understand operational cost drivers that will contribute to cost control and performance improvement.
- Coordinate the budget/forecast process, preparation of analysis and reports to management.
- Assisting in preparing and maintaining financial models used for LOM, annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of site reporting and finance processes to improve efficiency.
- Maintains the capital project register and provide assistance to departments with capital expenditure applications, monitoring and management of capital costs.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register for site.

- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or equivalent
- CA/CPA qualification or equivalent (qualified/recently qualified)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Relevant resources industry work experience is desirable
- A desire to spend time on site regularly
- A History of working with Finance and none- finance personnel
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Power Point)
