About our role

• Senior opportunity working with a diverse packaging range - full-time or part-time
• Deliver new products to market and optimise existing packaging formats
• Based at our head office in Mentone / Moorabbin (hybrid)

We now have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and agile Senior Packaging Technologist to join our Innovation & Growth team, based at our head office in Mentone/Moorabbin.
What you will do
In this role you will provide leadership and technical expertise for complex New Product Innovation and existing packaging formats across Simplot Australia portfolio. You will also support the Packaging Development Manager and wider team to advance the Packaging Innovation and Sustainability Strategy. This is achieved by educating and building greater awareness of the strategy and roadmap across cross functional teams.
You will also play a partnership role with procurement, supply chain, production sites and packaging suppliers to research and implement new packaging solutions as well as facilitating packaging value improvement projects in collaboration with wider packaging team.
Regarding innovation, you will also contribute to our Sustainability Goals and be an active contributor to operational artwork.
About you

• You are an experienced, senior level Packaging Technologist from a related Food / FMCG business.
• Ability to engage and build effective relationships across multiple stakeholders, you are well spoken, confident and have an open mindset, not afraid to 'push the envelope'.
• Degree qualified in Packaging or relevant studies in Engineering, Bachelor Technology or Science.
• You hold hands on experience in a factory and understand what is important at all parts of the manufacturing process.
• Ideally you hold experience with flexible films and its associated machinery.
• Project Management Skills.
• A focus on sustainability.
• Data gathering, analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Able to travel to our network of factories.
