About the Job:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead and evolve our payroll and admin function. As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate payment of wages and salaries, maintaining payroll compliance, and facilitating effective communication within the group.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly end-to-end payroll accurately and on time.
• Respond promptly to payroll queries and maintain updated employee information.
• Conduct ad hoc payments and payroll documentation.
• Ensure compliance with legislative changes and assist with reconciliations.
• Provide meaningful reporting to the group and manage group reporting requirements.
• Foster a culture of excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Assist in the maintenance of payroll systems and ensure data accuracy.
• Uphold a safety-first culture and promote a safe work environment.
• National Payroll experience across multiple states would be beneficial

Qualifications and Experience:

• Tertiary study in Business Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a large, complex environment.
• Understanding of Awards & Enterprise Agreements.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel experience.
• Experience transitioning to new payroll systems would be beneficial.
• Time and Attendance (T&A) experience.
• Retail payroll experience.

Working Relationships:

Internal: Collaborate with executive and senior leadership teams, key leaders, and all employees.
External: Engage with systems providers, superannuation representatives, lawyers, and union representatives.
