Senior Payroll Officer

Our client, a prominent player in Australia's energy and resourcing sector, invites applications for the role of Senior Payroll Officer at our Brisbane CBD office. This pivotal position offers the opportunity to lead end-to-end payroll functions within a dynamic team environment, supporting our operations during a strategic restructuring phase.
Role Overview: Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations across multiple business groups, ensuring accuracy, compliance with legislative requirements, and fostering a high standard of customer service. Your role will contribute directly to maintaining efficient payroll processes amidst ongoing ERP system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll processing, from opening payroll to third-party payments.
• Manage employee lifecycle data including new starters, personal details updates, leave entries, and terminations.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Coordinate payroll tax, superannuation, workers compensation returns, and other statutory obligations.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams on reporting and data management.
• Contribute to payroll-related audits and external reporting requirements.
• Support ad-hoc projects aimed at process improvement and ERP system enhancement.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in end-to-end payroll management.
• SAP experience is advantageous.
• Relevant mining/resources payroll industry Award knowledge
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, industrial instruments, and taxation.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• High level of attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
