About the Role
They are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Officer with extensive Governance and SAP experience to join their high-performing team in Parramatta, with the flexibility to work from home. This is an estimated 3-month temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend.
Reporting to the Manager, Governance & Compliance, you will provide service delivery through reconciliation and effective administration of payroll functions for the organisation to ensure accurate disbursement of fortnight salary, allowances and deductions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional and empathetic customer service
- Calculate and process fortnightly salary adjustments and functions to ensure accurate administration of salary, associated claims and subsequent accuracy of entitlements
- Consult with stakeholders in regards to taxation, recoupment, overpayments and negotiation of repayments and disbursements of funds
- Gather and collate information, scrutinise data reporting to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Perform payroll reconciliations, resolve errors and discrepancies adhering to critical time dependant deadlines
- Undertake general administrative and payroll activities to contribute to the delivery of accurate payroll and accounting functionality
- Provide advice and expertise, make recommendations to contribute to the development of strategies to mitigate risks
- Maintain up to date knowledge of industrial awards, organisational polices and legislative requirements
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practice

Requirements
- Demonstrated Payroll experience
- Extensive experience in a highly transactional payroll related environment
- Public Sector experience highly advantageous
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS office suite and SAP essential
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Valid Baseline security clearances & willingness to undergo pre-employment checks
- Fully COVID vaccinated or medically exempt
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
