Are you an experienced Senior Physiotherapist ready to take on a rewarding role in the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network?
The SALHN Older Persons Service (OPS) has been developed to support the care of our most vulnerable older people and reduce unnecessary presentations and admissions to hospital for older people with complex psychosocial, functional and acute medical needs, and to reduce their length of hospital stay in the event of admission. This service aims to enable the early identification, assessment, care planning, and management of 'at risk' older people.
About the Role:
As the Senior Physiotherapist, your role will include:
- Leading the Physiotherapy aspects of Older Persons Assessment and Liaison Team (OPAL) and Residential Care Outreach Team (RCOT) service provision
- Designing and implementing Physiotherapy services on the OPAL/RCOT ward to meet the needs of the patients.
- Providing leadership, consultancy and advice to management and other health professionals on service delivery development and practice within Physiotherapy services in the OPAL/RCOT unit and transition care services.
- Providing advice and consultancy to other staff within the Physiotherapy department, other health professionals, and external clinicians or agencies on their area of expertise as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or equivalent which entitles registration as a Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Extensive experience in the provision of clinical Physiotherapy services to clients with a broad range of illnesses and disabilities relevant to an acute medical area, in particular clients with complex needs and the older person
- Demonstrated ability to supervise junior staff, allied health assistants, and students.
- High level interpersonal skills including negotiation, consultation and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective networks with key stakeholders.
