Senior Development Application Planner
We now have an opportunity available for a Senior Development Assessment Planner to join the Council and begin contributing to shaping the community for generations to come.
Your Next Opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Development Assessment Planner to join our team. As a Senior Development Assessment Planner, you will contribute to the assessment, reporting and determination of development applications and associated planning functions to ensure that legislative requirements are achieved. You will provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers. This includes answering inquiries and forwarding communications to the appropriate department. Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a customer-centric mindset are a must.
Criteria
- Degree and/or Postgraduate qualifications in urban and regional planning or related discipline
- Extensive and detailed knowledge of NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment legislation and the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW)
- Significant experience in local government and the assessment of complex development applications in a variety of residential, commercial, industrial and rural contexts
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and review of Local Environmental Plans and/or Development Control Plans
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to critically analyse issues and make recommendations
- Highly developed written communication skills and demonstrated ability to prepare a wide range of communication materials, including reports, correspondence, submissions, policies, procedures and other corporate documents
- Highly developed time management and prioritisation skills, including the ability to effectively manage complex workloads and competing priorities to achieve agreed outcomes within established deadlines
- Excellent standard of IT literacy and advanced computer and software skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
