Form of workThe Opportunity: Techforce has partnered with an industry leading EPCM to Develop and Lead their Planning / Scheduling team for a new project. This client is specifically looking for a Senior Planner/ Scheduler with proven experience in Primavera P6, Tender and Contract experience as well as a background in working across large scale mining / EPCM projects.
Job Responsibilities:
As Senior Planner / Scheduler, you will be Leading and Developing a Total Project Plan. Through this you will be coordinating milestone reviews, and overseeing the development and review of Project Schedules to align with the Total Project Plan. Work closely with stakeholders and subcontractors to effectively forecast expectations as well as potential constraints. Setting up processes for effective Project Costing, Budgets, Risk Management and Claims. High level Primavera P6 experience is a must.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Possess the capacity to critically analyse project information and then prepare programs and schedules to achieve targeted deliverables.
- Ability to create, interpret, and implement work breakdown structures (WBS)
- Ensure communication of relevant project information between the teams.
- Utilize regular quality inspections to maintain a high standard of work.
- Provide information and advice to key project stakeholders based on project progress.
- Manage clients’ needs in a prompt, and cost-effective manner.
- Hold accountability through the production of reports to track processes and outcomes.
- Identify potential bottlenecks and scheduling issues, identify improvements, and query construction proposals to maximise efficiencies.
- Maintain transparent communications with Project and Construction Manager, with particular focus on the status of the project as well as issues that can negatively impact the relationship with the client.
- Critically analyse and evaluate proposed deviations and variations to identify future impacts to project timeline and resourcing requirements.
To be considered you MUST have:
You’ll have 5+ years of experience in a Senior Planning or Scheduling role with proven experience in Multidiscipline Large-Scale Mining or EPCM projects.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- High level system proficiency in Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis and Microsoft Excel.
- Proven experience using earned value tools such as EVM for Primavera P6.
- Proven history building and developing Level 4 & Level 5 Baseline Schedules as well as leading the Project team in Daily, Weekly updates aligning with the Total Project Plan.
- A well-rounded understanding of various improvement pathways and experience implementing various efficient delivery methods.
- Experience producing correspondence, written reports, and instructions to a professional standard.
