Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) is a high-grade gold mine in Western Australia. The Bellevue mine has a forecasted 10+ year mine life producing over 200,000 Au Ozs for the first five years of production. Construction of the mill has recently been completed, with first gold pour completed in CY Q4 2023.
Underground mining has occurred since late 2020 to establish multiple mining fronts that de-risks the project in advance of underground production. The operation is an industry stand out with strong financial and ESG metrics underpinned by the exceptional grade of the project.
The Bellevue Gold Project is located approximately 30km north of Leinster township and sits in a major gold and nickel producing district. The Company has a highly skilled management team with a track record of exploration success and development of major gold mines.

The focus of this role is to develop a well thought out 2 year mine plan (design, schedule and supporting infrastructure) to reduce risk to safety and business continuity to as low as practicable, and oversee the implementation of the plan on a medium and short term basis to meet Annual Budgets and longer term Company objectives.
This position is offered on a full-time basis, working 12 hours per day on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster at our Bellevue Gold Project outside of Leinster WA.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Development and communication of 2 year annual mine plan (design, schedule and supporting infrastructure), with key consideration for eliminating safety risks through a well-considered mine design and schedule and with input from stakeholders (such as Geotechnical Engineering and Geology).
- Development and communication Quarterly Forecasts and infrastructure plans to meet Annual Budget
- Development and implementation of mine planning systems, procedures, standards and templates to ensure successful transition and delivery of mine plan from long term to short term
- Conducting risk assessments to consider and evaluate mine design risks and implement best practice to mitigate to as low as reasonably practicable
- Evaluating, quantifying and communicating safety and business delivery risks and conducting scenario modelling to assist in implementation of risk mitigation strategies
- Scope and manage infrastructure projects (>$250k) such as dewatering, ventilation and power to align with medium and long term requirements
- Leading, mentoring, performance management and providing individual development plans for the Planning Engineering Team
- Overseeing and reviewing the development and communication of the 3MS mine plan by the Planning Engineers (Medium Term) to align to the Quarterly Forecast and Annual Budget
- Reviewing 12wk mine schedule on a 2 weekly basis, and evaluating any emerging issues and effectively communicating them and developing strategies to mitigate
- Oversee Development design work required to meet the operational mining schedule, ensuring plans are completed with adequate consideration to ventilation, infrastructure, paste fill, and geological/geotechnical requirements (Area notes, Level Notes, Level Development Plans)
- Identification and implementation of improvement opportunities (safety, production and cost) to optimise the mine plan
- Quarterly Ventilation planning (primary and secondary)
- Tracking mine performance data (including stope reconciliation) to justify and verify schedule assumptions and track performance throughout year
- Working closely with the Company Principal Engineer to align the long term underground mining strategy (>2 years) owned by the Principal Engineer through to the <2 year onsite mine plan owned by the Senior Planning Engineer
- Monitoring 2W planning and execution to ensure the alignment of short term priorities and plans to the long term
Key Skills/Qualifications/Experience/Competencies:
- A tertiary degree in Mining Engineering
- First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate preferable
- Experience with pastefill preferable
- 5+ Years of professional experience in mining engineering
- Deswik competency
- Project/infrastructure experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication, literacy, numeracy and presentation skills
- Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills
- Underground Narrow Vein Gold Mining experience
- Business acumen gained within an operational mining environment
- Full knowledge of Work Health and Safety (Mines) Act & Regulations
- Outstanding analytical skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail
