Karora Resources is a Canadian owned, multi-asset gold producer with operations across the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Our producing mining operations of Beta Hunt and Higginsville are supported by two processing facilities, one on site at Higginsville and our Lakewood plant located in Kalgoorlie, providing a combined processing capacity of 2.6Mtpa.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Mine Planning and Scheduling
- Manage the 3 and 12 monthly plan and contribute to the development of the Life of Mine Plan and Budget for the operation
- Ensure Mine Plans and budget for the Life of Mine Plan are achievable and compliant for the operation
Production
- Lead ore reserves estimation processes with the quality standards for the operation
- Ensure that ore and waste are mined in accordance with budget and Life of Mine.
Design
- Manage underground designs for the operation
- Manage long term planning
Projects
- Long term planning and optimisation of operational and development projects.
Reporting
- Develop robust technical reporting systems to ensure mine planning is robust and effective.
Safety & Environment
- Actively promote a safety culture on site
- Display a clear commitment to safety and health and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment.
- Operate in accordance with and comply the Company’s Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Proactive involvement with continuous OHS improvement processes; and
- Active participation in all communication and awareness systems.
- Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management.
- Operate in accordance with the Company’s Environmental Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment; and
Minimises waste generation through reduced consumption and increased re-use and recycling.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications Required
- Completion of Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Current Unencumbered “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
Desired Experience & Competencies
- First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
- Ensuring the mine planning and scheduling services meet the mining department plans and budgets
- Establish suitable processes for the identification of strategic and tactical operating options
- Understand the work plan and priorities, and have the skills and knowledge to provide the required level of planning for the operation
- Extensive experience and exposure to precious and base metals mining with some lengthy experience in a Senior Engineering role.
- Strong Technical scheduling and planning skills in Life of Mine Planning
- Competent in the use of mine planning software applications including mine scheduling software.
- Strong report writing skills and competent skills in spreadsheet and presentation applications.
- Detailed working knowoldge of the Mines Saety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work a project specific roster
- Prior to commencing employment, a full pre-employment medical considering role requirements, working conditions, and remoteness of the site must be passed
- National Police Clearance that meets Company Standards must be obtained prior to employment
