Are you ready to lead and shape the future of water and sewerage infrastructure in Mackay? We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to play a pivotal role in forecasting and managing long and short-term water and sewerage infrastructure investments.
The Role
As a Senior Planning Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to forecast water and sewerage infrastructure investment requirements, ensuring alignment with the current and future regional growth of Mackay. You will lead the development and implementation of an integrated asset management, prioritization, and costing model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of water and sewer asset management systems.
- Provide assistance in developing a preventative maintenance program for strategic assets.
- Develop and oversee the 10-year Capital Plan for infrastructure upgrades based on master planning.
- Strategic Planning and Reporting
- Contribute to the development and implementation of programs to improve asset performance.
- Provide specialist advice on policy matters and contribute to the development/review of technical policies.
Essential Position Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications from a recognized university.
- Substantial experience in water and sewerage infrastructure planning.
- Management experience in human, financial, and capital resources.
- Current QLD 'C' class driver's license.
- High degree of initiative, judgment, confidentiality, tact, and discretion.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements.
Special Requirements:
- Some out-of-hours work is expected.
- Site visits to construction environments.
