Starting salary $104,416.00 p.a. negotiable, dependent on skills and experience.

About the Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced person to fill the role of Senior Planning & Lands Officer within our Lands, Property and Regulatory Services team.
The position supports the Coordinator Planning & Lands in enhancing future development and ensuring consistent, professional land use planning services. Responsibilities include driving continuous improvement, acting as referrals point of contact, facilitating closures, managing land acquisition, handling mining applications, ensuring legislative compliance, conducting inspections, collaborating with stakeholders, contributing to policy development, providing advice, drafting reports, and other assigned duties. Safety, diversity, and inclusion are emphasized, with a commitment to implementing priorities as directed by the Coordinator Planning & Lands.
Our ideal candidate possesses relevant qualifications or substantial experience in a similar role and excels as a highly effective communicator. They demonstrate a commitment to delivering timely outcomes with a high level of honesty and integrity. The role entails travel to other Shire towns, including overnight stays, or occasional travel to meet stakeholders if the position is working from home. This full-time opportunity requires a minimum commitment of 80 hours per fortnight.
This position offers a competitive remuneration package and six weeks’ annual leave. All terms and conditions are as per the Shire of Ashburton Enterprise Agreement 2022.
