An exciting and unique opportunity exists for talented and passionate individuals to join the Policy, Communication and Coordination Branch as Senior Policy Officer to contribute to the ground-breaking work of the Group in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights.
The Policy, Communication and Coordination Branch sits within the Self Determination Policy and Transformation Division and leads and facilitates a whole-of-government approach on Aboriginal affairs to improve outcomes for First Peoples.
As the Senior Policy Officer you will prepare correspondence, briefings, Cabinet submissions and reports on sensitive issues to a high standard within tight timelines for the Minister for Treaty and First Peoples, the Premier, Secretary and executives. You will also assist in policy document development and project plans within the branch to support effective project delivery.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Understanding and awareness of Aboriginal self-determination reform priorities for Victorian Aboriginal communities.
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex briefs, submissions, letters, reports and correspondence
- Proven ability to initiate, deliver and manage strategic projects on time and to a high standard
