What's the role?Outstanding opportunity for a Senior Reporter to join Australia's largest media organisation. Work for NewsCorp's breaking Newswire service providing valuable content for all mastheads, news.com.au and the Australian as well as external clients.This role will work within our existing team to cover political news out of Canberra. This is a full time, permanent position based out of News Corp office in Parliament House.Key Responsibilities
  • Pitch and generate original news stories and ideas
Break political news storiesMaintain an accurate and up to date calendarFile engaging copy to strict deadlinesDevelop and maintain good relationships with key political playersLiaise with CoS (Politics) on daily coverage, planning and key eventsRespond to breaking news events outside of rostered hours when requiredWho are you?
  • At least four years of journalism experience, preferably in political reporting
