Southern Program Alliance based on the Frankston line is one of five alliances responsible for removing 110 of Melbourne's most dangerous and congested level crossings by 2025 as part of Victoria's Big Build transport infrastructure program.
The Opportunity
To work in a high functioning Procurement and Contracts team, ensuring effective administration of allocated Procurement and subcontracts through all phases of the project. You will get the opportunity to demonstrate strong leadership and to ensure the commercial objectives are delivered successfully and in accordance with Alliance policies and procedures, ensuring cost, time, safety, and quality objectives are achieved.
Key accountabilities for the position
- Administration of the procurement process including scope preparation, selection of tenderers, tender negotiations, issuing of subcontracts and other agreements, claims/variations processing, contract completion and closeout including deeds of settlement and retention releases.
- Review of legitimacy of claims for delays, acceleration, and extension of time in accordance with the contract
- Prepare, obtain approval, and transmit Payment Schedules that comply with Security of Payments Act requirements, with approvals obtained via prior to issuing.
- Administration of contracts ensuring Alliance and participant targets are carried out in accordance with the PAA
Skills & Experience Required
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Legal or similar (highly desirable but not essential)
- At least 5 years relevant work experience demonstrating a strong understanding of contracts and procurement with at least 2 in a senior role
- Experience in Rail/Civil Infrastructure highly desirable but not essential
