• Navigate procurement requirements for both manufacturing and supply chain operations.

The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for formulating and overseeing the procurement procedures encompassing both finished products and raw materials. This pivotal role will play a crucial part in the organizational expansion, particularly as the business transitions its emphasis to revenue growth through buy, sell, distribute as well as manufacture.
Looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to set establish & lead this function, hands on capability with a passion for playing a key part of a growing business. Growth through distribution, importing, strategic partnerships. Growth through geography – Melbourne & Brisbane Distribution Centres, warehouses planned.

Description 

• Inventory control & forecasting; establish forecasting methodology.
• Establish and cultivate robust relationships with both domestic and international suppliers of raw materials and supplies, ensuring ongoing maintenance of these connections.
• Conduct analyses of inventory levels and proactively adjust forward orders to align with evolving sales patterns.
• Expertly negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure favourable conditions for the company.
• Monitor and effectively manage inventory levels to ensure a sufficient supply for production while minimizing surplus inventory.
• Formulate and execute cost-effective procurement strategies aimed at improving overall efficiency.
• Enforce rigorous compliance with pertinent regulations and laws governing procurement, encompassing customs and trade regulations.
• Contribute to formulating the business case for new products.
• Collaborate with the Operations team, Product Development, and other relevant teams as needed.
• Lead an offshore team member.

• 5+ years of experience in implementing procurement processes and management.
• Proven expertise in procurement, showcasing experience in both international and domestic sourcing.
• Robust analytical skills and proficiency in making data-driven decisions.
• A Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred, though not mandatory.
• Understanding of customs and trade regulations related to procurement.
• Established track record in constructing and sustaining productive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and industry representatives.
• Robust commitment to customer service excellence.
• Capability to operate autonomously and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in effectively managing multiple tasks with conflicting priorities.
