- Design and develop accessible, easy to use and supportable digital products and services.
- Collaborate with teams remotely and in person across NSW to deliver strategic digital transformation project outcomes.
- Facilitate the product vision and roadmap by conceptualising, designing and testing intuitive user experiences and service provision in line with management methodology to ensure outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
- Develop a deep understanding of the customer to enable a data driven human-centered design approach for complex product development problems.
- Contribute to the product(s) enterprise roadmap by applying strategies and tools for continuous improvement in user experience and user interface design.
- Ensure digital accessibility for customers by applying best practice methodologies and industry recognised systems, processes and guidelines.
- Contribute to our design system to ensure consistency and scalability across our platform
- Experience leading product direction & strategic thinking with the ability to develop product goals, identify opportunities, & make decisions based on the impact to people & the Department
- Strong of experience working closely with engineers & other designers in cross functional teams to deliver design excellence
- Researching the digital product horizon (internally and externally) to identify opportunities and foresee potential repercussions
- Manage and facilitate design processes across multiple streams of product work to enable collaborative ideation and concept development, UX flows, prototyping, testing, and execution of world class design
- Develop and maintain design systems and standards to streamline the implementation of consistent and meaningful UX/UI design across our products
- Ideate and design new features to deliver on our product strategy across a diverse product ecosystem
Skills and Experience
Mandatory:
- 5+ years as Product Designer
- Keeping across changing technologies, business processes and industry best practices.
- Ability to achieve successful outcomes through collaborative and cooperative means.
- Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the project, its environments, and related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work within tight project timeframes.
- A strong communicator with proven ability to develop well-positioned and thoughtful insights and ideas with the team & wider stakeholder groups
- Curiosity and a willingness to lean into a complex domain & problems alongside design team
- Experience working in the Government sector
- Previous experience with other Justice Sector Agencies.
- Qualifications in a relevant area and/ or demonstrated professional experience in an equivalent role.
- Previous experience with software integration or application development within a large enterprise environment
