About the Opportunity

The Senior Product Development Technologist - Baking will be the Product Development lead for a portfolio of projects, and part of a cross functional team launching new products into various baking categories for Goodman Fielder. 

The role will be accountable for: delivery of a portfolio of NPD projects against marketing briefs and continuous improvement projects executed using agreed Product Development & change management processes, quality and regulatory requirements and manufacturing capability, along with providing technical expertise to key stakeholders.

Key Deliverables:

• Lead development of new products (to agreed Product Development Brief), and continuous improvement of existing product, tender process &/or change of suppliers, shelf life testing and support capital projects
• Ensure Product Development processes & regulatory constraints/opportunities are taken into account when developing products
• Design, deliver and report on any test baking, factory trials, shelf-life testing or nutritional testing, documenting and interpreting all data generated
• Develop project timelines and key milestones with business stakeholders highlighting and communicating risks appropriately. Proactively seek solutions for risk mitigation
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of all key development activities, including raw material & finished product specifications, factory trial reports and SAP data
• Develop a deep knowledge of functional ingredients and processing across our baking network.

About You

• 5+ years' experience in Product Development role, preferably baking or bread production
• Advanced internal & external stakeholder management
• Analytical, Project Management, Problem Solving, Commercialisation Experience
• Solid Product development and project management experience with proven results
• Highly motivated, independent, self-disciplined, demonstrating ownership & initiatives
• Degree qualified (Food Technology/Science)
• Knowledge of Food Industry
• Driver's licence, passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally
