ABOUT THE ROLE
Define the product Data vision, strategy and roadmap for ABC Digital Products ensuring alignment with the digital strategy for Product & Technology and the ABCs strategic objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Data Strategy & Planning
Define and oversee the Data vision, strategy and roadmap for ABC Digital Products collaborating in a cross-functional team and partnering with product and content teams to enable data informed decisions.
Drive and develop effective, innovative and measurable strategies to provide self-service of data capabilities within product teams following data mesh principles.
Partnering with the Data practice community to support end-to-end implementation and maintenance of data capabilities from tagging to visualisation to ensure high quality data hygiene, enable cost effective use of data infrastructure and follow industry best practices.
Lead day to day product management that aligns with best practice principles using an array of product management techniques, including performance, stability and security of the data platform.
Establish KPIs, undertake data analysis and provide recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders to inform decision making on roadmap development.
Leadership
Lead and influence across product teams to drive a high-performance culture to contribute to the achievement of P&T objectives specifically to mature the data culture and decision-making using data.
Demonstrate expert knowledge and follow competitive trends in the data industry so these insights can be shared with the product teams and key stakeholders across the organisation.
Actively promote the ABC values and apply all relevant workplace policies and guidelines.
Cooperate with any reasonable instruction, procedure or policy relating to safety and take reasonable care of your own safety and that of other people who may be affected by your conduct while at work. Additional WHS responsibilities apply to Managers and Supervisors, Team Directors, and other Officers.
Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and foster strong working relationships within Product and Technology and other ABC divisions, to ensure shared understanding of ABC data capabilities and use of data in product development.
Collaborate with News Analysis & Investigations, Content and the Audiences teams to achieve strategic use of data in product development and support editorial decisions where appropriate.
Ensure product teams work well together across all functions leading to a culture that leverages group knowledge and empowers teams to work autonomously and effectively.
ABOUT YOU
Extensive experience in the development and management of data capabilities, preferably in a digital context.
Proven experience in managing, mentoring and leading teams to achieve a high performance and positive workplace culture.
Demonstrated experience in managing workflows, budgets and timeframes across multiple initiatives.
Highly advanced communication skills with proven ability to establish positive and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and to negotiate and influence the achievement of shared objectives.
Highly established analytical and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for creative and strategic thinking to inspire innovation.
Highly developed skills to drive the development of data platforms end to end from tagging to visualisation and reporting.
