About the Role

As the Senior Product Marketing Manager at TNA, you bring your strategic leadership, deep analytical thinking and extensive experience in delivering compelling and differentiated solution messaging to position the brand effectively vs. the competition and help us surpass our business goals.

This global role centres around understanding our target buyers, their pain points, and how to translate that into customer solutions that you can communicate through audience-specific content, conveying our vision and strategy. Your focus on detail, commitment to quality, and the ability to translate technical features into customer benefits are also essential.

Your responsibilities extend over the entire product lifecycle, encompassing strategic planning, market analysis, through to product retirement. A significant part of your role involves bridging various departments such as sales, marketing, technology, and research, to ensure a unified approach in product development and delivery. You will also provide deep insights into customer purchasing behaviours and criteria to the sales team. This role will have the responsibility for managing TNA’s entire product portfolio with direct responsibility for specific categories, and managing other product categories through a resource reporting into this function.

Key additions to your role include leading with innovative marketing strategies, ensuring TNA maintains a competitive edge in the food packaging and processing industry, and overseeing the adoption of advanced technology in our Product Marketing efforts.

This role will report to the Group Marketing Manager, and will be based in Sydney, Australia.

Key responsibilities:

  1. MARKET ANALYSIS & INSIGHTS: Research customer product needs through the interpretation and sharing of business intelligence information including:
  • Product Insights: Gather and analyse data on product performance, barriers, etc
  • Customer Research: Regularly engage with customers to refine target and pain points for each solution.
  • Industry Intelligence: Use industry intelligence to inform product development, pricing and marketing activities.
  • Industry insights: Understanding and analysing market trends aligned with customer needs.
  1. PLANNING: Working closely with the Solution Specialist to develop a plan for the promotion and communication of new, and existing products for the entire financial year.
  2. MESSAGING & POSITIONING: Develop clear Product Value Propositions (PVP), Unique Selling Propositions (USP), features and options by understanding the market and the challenges key buyer face in solving industry challenges and what differentiates TNA products from others in the market.
  1. COMMUNICATIONS: Internally communicate the value of TNA products to the sales team through sales tools whilst adopting an external, targeted multi-channel communications plan that facilitates the selling process. Identify, develop and/or manage the creation of a variety of content types ‚videos, presentations, etc. as needed to fuel sales and marketing success.
  1. PRODUCT TRAINING: Provide product sales training to the entire sales team whilst providing online training course to customers.
  1. PROMOTION: Work closely with sales and product managers to promote product solutions (internally & externally) of both existing and new products whilst ensuring high product knowledge levels in the sales teams, through:
  • Product Marketing Plans (PMP) – Internal Master Document
  • Product training (face-to-face & online)
  • World-class promotional tools including presentations, case-studies, EDMs, videos, images, AR, VR, global web & exhibitions presence.
  1. SALES ENABLEMENT: After a product launch, Senior Product Marketing Manager will help with sales enablement and focus on driving demand, adoption and the overall success of the product.
  1. REVENUE AND MARGIN OPTIMISATION: Financial management of product lines, focusing on revenue and margin optimisation.
  1. GLOBAL MARKET INITIATIVES: Manage global market initiatives, reflecting TNA's worldwide presence and diverse customer base.
  1. STAKEHOLDERS MANAGEMENT: Enhance and maintain stakeholder relationships, establishing targeted customer and industry partnership networks.

Qualification and experience

  • Technical college or bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing
  • 15+ years’ experience in a similar global sales or Product Marketing role in B2B capital equipment industry.
  • Experience and knowledge of the relevant market segments and belonging technologies would be advantageous.
  • Product marketing experience in a project-based environment.
  • Development of product value propositions and providing product sales training.
  • Proficiency in customer value analysis and pricing strategies.
  • Proven experience in handling global markets and multicultural teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on innovation and strategic thinking.
  • Knowledgeable in the latest technological trends in the industry and commitment to sustainability.

  • Collaborative skills: As Sr. Product Marketing Manager you will have to work with teams across your organisation. This will include solution specialists, sales department, engineering department, product management, and senior executives. New product launches are inherently ‘cross functional’ and entail coordinating the work of many different people.
  • Communication skills: Both speaking and writing abilities must be tapped in this role. You will frequently have to present about new products and write engaging copy, telling the ‘story’ of products, for various marketing channels.
  • Research skills: A crucial part of being a Product Marketing Manager is gaining insight into customer needs and experiences. Analysis of data, surveys and customer interviews will be part of this mix and you need to be well acquainted with these techniques.
  • Able to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Ability to use and leverage CRM tools.
  • Computer skills including a sound understanding of spreadsheets, preparation of presentations and reports.
  • Language skills: Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages beneficial
