We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Product Technologist to be based in our state-of-the-art factory at Kiewa. As a key member of a team, you will be responsible to drive the successful end-to-end new product development (innovation) by contributing to the overall NPD strategy.Reporting to the EDP R&I Manager you will lead the improvement of existing products and contribute to productivity initiatives within the business from concept to launch (renovation). You will be responsible for the delivery of product development outputs and packaging within business objectives and across different cross-functional projects, ensuring on-time and quality delivery against business expectations.Your responsibilities will also include (but are not limited to):
- Lead the technical development of product and packaging as per the company’s growth and sustainability strategies
- Drive optimisation in milk science and technology processes to achieve efficient product development
- Design a superior product, transforming concept to viable formulation across shelf life
- Lead the project from scoping to launch, including the product design, development, and implementation stage
- Drive technology by understanding the packaging material and format, their impact on food, final product, and equipment
- Thorough understanding and awareness of food safety, quality, and regulatory aspects and the ability to systematically integrate them into product development
- Support the factory’s continuous improvement initiative with the demonstration of technical abilities during PDCA/Kaizen/RCA/TQM/TPM process.
- Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering/Food Science/Dairy Science/Life Science/Human Nutrition or related field
- Prior experience in a similar role within a dairy industry is highly desired
- Good Excel and MS Office suite skills will be preferred
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Sound planning and organization skills with an ability to work with shifting priorities
