About the OPPORTUNITY We have a new opportunity for a Senior Production Planner/Scheduler to join our Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program based at SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard, reporting to the Production Planning Manager.Interstate candidatesare welcome to apply for this role. As part of the Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program of the Hobart Class Destroyer Guided Missile DDGs, you will be responsible to support the planning effort for a broad range of production planning activities. This includes maintaining the configuration baseline from the manufacturing bill of material, creation of Work Orders and Job Cards, performing production scheduling, capacity planning, production monitoring and production reporting to manage the upgrade and maintenance of ships. Key responsibilities include: Creation of a detailed Production schedule Work Order and Job Card activities Assigning materials to complete work scope of Job Cards Development and assignment of production budgets based on allocation of business norms and assistance in aligning production and project budgets Progress monitoring, analysing and reporting on the production schedule to both internal and external customers Representing planning, as required, with Integrated Work Team About YOU Trade or degree level qualification in an engineering discipline Demonstrated experience in a scheduling/production planning type role, preferably in the marine or heavy engineering industries Understanding of engineering, supply chain and operations requirements and processes Competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications Working understanding of Quality and Configuration Control Strong written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different stakeholders Knowledge and experience in Windchill and Aveva packages (highly desirable) Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
