About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Planner to join our Maritime Australia Program, based at Osborne South Australia, reporting to the Production Planning Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for the digital assignment of installable ship products to production work packs utilising the 3D model in advance of drawing development to support the construction phase of the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP).
Key responsibilities include:
- Development of Manufacturing Bill of materials (MBoM) for the allocated design zones
- Assigning the MBoM to level 2 work packages
- Development of production work order and job card schedule
- Integration with engineering on issues such as design information and part attributes
- Assist in development in engineering drawing schedule based on production schedule
- Integration with supply chain on lockout equipment, ABoM and lead times
- Conduct visualisation review of allocated design zone build sequence
- Development and Assignment of Production budgets based on allocation of business norms and assistance in aligning Production and Project budgets via the BCR process
- Identification of process improvement
- Perform other relevant and appropriate duties as required.
- Responsible for closure of own actions within JIRA.
- Working experience in a Production, Scheduling/ Production Planning type role, preferably in the heavy engineering industries or equivalent tertiary qualifications or production trade experience
- Working experience in the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and/or 3D models
- Understanding of Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations requirements and processes
- Knowledge of effective use of Planning and scheduling processes, systems and tools
- Must be eligible to apply for Australian Defence Security Clearance
