As a Senior Project Accountant you will report to the Financial Performance and Analysis Manager, and lead the management accounting on Program Lighthouse. As part of the transformation, you will bring your project management accountant expertise and present project cost performance data to Senior Management and Executive teams and develop new project costing processes. You will join a passionate and professional team based in the Belmont State Office, and flexible working arrangements are available. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working a 37.5 hour week Monday through to Friday.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure opportunities to drive efficiencies and maximise revenue are identified and communicated
- Develop budgets and forecasts in line with project scope across the life of projects
- Provide data on project cost performance and participate in the review of overall project status and forecasts
- Coordinate reviews with senior management and executive teams to ensure performance and financial targets are met
- Develop management reporting packs and presentations to the senior leadership team.
- Month end accounting activities, including relevant journals, provisions, allocations etc. and participation in variance analysis.
- Assist in financial projects, tender preparation, contract drafting as and when required
- Assist in other financial areas as requested by the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, Head of Finance or the CFO
Skills and Attributes required:
- Prior experience in coordinating reviews with senior management and executive teams to ensure performance and financial targets are met
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work across a diverse range of stakeholders
- 2-3+ years post graduate experience, preferably with significant time in a management/project accounting environment
- CPA or CA qualified
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with flexibility and adaptability
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
