JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Accountant to join our Operations business in Australia & Asia Pacific West (APAC WEST). This is an opportunity to join our expanding Operations team, as part of our strategic growth plan for 2024 and beyond. Based in Perth CBD, this is a long-term commitment role and is available as full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Lead Project Accountant and APAC West Regional Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

Billing:

  • Ensuring alignment of client and internal financial systems to facilitate billing and cost reconciliation 
  • Reviewing weekly Timewriting hours (EBA payroll hours/data), ensuring accurate allocation of time and costs to contracted work 
  • Managing client invoicing in accordance with contract 
  • Managing customer financial audit processes & ensure resolution is reached 
  • Ensuring customer payments meet contractual timing 
  • Liaising with client representatives, and project personnel to resolve billing queries 
  • Managing the entire billing process and ensure that the DSO target for the contract is achieved, with any issues raised timely for resolution with the respective parties 

Month end close / reporting:

  • Reporting contract performance and analyses variances e.g. internal and external dashboard reports and other reports as required by the contract
  • Undertaking the month end close for contract and the submission of various group reporting requirement e.g. Flash/Bridge/Unbilled and AR analysis 
  • Working with Shared Services team to ensure allocation of payments to receivables is done timely monthly  
  • Having a good understanding of the contract; be well aware of the financial and commercial terms that governs the operation of the contract so that value added analysis can be drawn up for the contract
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders for all financial matters 

Payroll of EBA staff

  • Oversight of the Payroll process

Other

  • Ensuring rates data changes captured in a timely manner in Oracle and submitted to the client for approval 
  • Leading various initiatives to define finance processes and procedures to support the contract framework 
  • Taking on all other financial analysis, financial data request as required by the contact manager and corporate 
  • Managing the budgeting and forecasting process for the contract; driving deadlines, deliverables and analysis of the forecasted revenue and margin against prior years 
  • Performing risk assessment on all financial processes implementing mitigating controls as necessary; 
  • Resolving / Coordinating / Troubleshooting all process issues/matters on the contract relating to iexpense, Azolve, timewriting, 3rd party time writers 
  • Reviewing / Approving coding of invoices in Azolve

QUALIFICATIONS

You must have full work rights to work in this Australian location.    

Ideally, you will hold a degree or Professional Qualifications in Finance / Accounting from a recognised institution, have 2+ years of relevant project accounting experience and have a CA or CPA qualification (or are currently working towards). You will have: 

  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, ERP and other IT systems 
  • An ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organisation 
  • A customer focussed approach to your profession - internally and externally 
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with proven experience in client-facing roles 
  • Exceptional analytical and numerical skills
  • 2 – 4 years of project accounting with EBA experience
  • A “solutions mindset” and be delivery driven with an ability to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
