We are looking for an innovative thinker with experience in project management and stakeholder engagement to drive this exciting project focussed on increasing access to our Men's Shed.
The Peter Mac Patient Experience and Wellbeing Department leads a range of high-impact work in three streams: patient and carer experience, community engagement, and wellbeing. Sitting within the wellbeing stream, we have partnered with Melbourne Men’s Shed in delivery of the Peter Mac Men’s Shed since 2019.
We recently received grant funding to increase accessibility of the Peter Mac Men’s Shed for people with a disability, focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and people from regional/rural Victoria. The project will run over approximately two years, and this is a 0.6FTE (48 hours per fortnight) role for two years. Salary range is between $52,836.38 per annum and $57,079.58 per annum depending on candidate experience. To be discussed with Hiring Manager.

Essential Requirements
• Understanding of health issues faced by men and proven ability to effectively interact with men about these issues
• Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including with vulnerable people and people with a disability
• Experience with project management through the full lifecycle, with demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality projects in a timely and efficient manner
• Experience of practically applying the principles of person-centred care, consumer participation in health, and co-design methodology
• Understanding of the Victorian health and community services sectors, including major stakeholders
• Organisational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to analyse, prioritise and meet deadlines
• Ability to collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data for improvement, research, and evaluation
• Excellent written communication skills including report writing, grant and funding applications, and presentations
• Ability to form strong and effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
Desirable Requirements
• Tertiary qualification in a health or community services related discipline such as public health, nursing, allied health, or health service administration
• Experience working in a community or tertiary health service in a clinical, project, or management capacity
• Experience with successfully applying for ethics committee approval and associated ongoing reporting
• Skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with survey software such as REDCap

1. Scope and plan the project
• Confirm the scope, purpose and objectives of the project in line with requirements of the grant funding agency
• Identify and prioritise key internal and external stakeholders
• Develop a project plan, including methodology and stakeholder engagement plan
• Establish project governance and advisory arrangements, including ongoing engagement with people with lived and living experience of disability and cancer
• If required, gain approval for the project from the Peter Mac Ethics Committee
2. Partner with community agencies
• Identify community agencies that can assist in achievement of project objectives, for example ACCHOs or community services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with identified agencies, building alliances to support subsequent project phases
• Where appropriate, act as the primary relationship holder connecting internal Peter Mac stakeholders with identified agencies
3. Develop and execute a measurement strategy
• In line with project objectives and grant funding body key performance indicators, identify a suite of measures that indicate project performance
• Measures should provide real-time indicators of performance and effectiveness, while also collecting data for final evaluation
• Develop a preliminary evaluation framework that aligns with measurement strategy
• Manage the collection and analysis of data associated with all measures, with assistance of Project Officer Men’s Shed

4. Co-design and implement interventions to achieve project objectives
• Lead a co-design process to identify interventions that will achieve project objectives. This will involve genuine partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including people with lived and living experience of disability and cancer
• Implement identified interventions within the Peter Mac Men’s Shed, adjusting and adapting where required to ensure achievement of project objectives
• Develop and maintain relationships with people who use the Peter Mac Men’s Shed, including frequent attendance in-person at the Shed
5. Evaluate the project
• Refine the evaluation framework developed as part of the measurement strategy
• Confirm appropriate evaluation methodology, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
• Undertake the evaluation to prepare a report for Peter Mac and other stakeholders
• Assist the Commonwealth Department of Social Services with their evaluation of the project
6. Additional duties
• Demonstrate commitment to Peter Mac’s organisational values, including performing to an exceptionally high work ethic and focus on collaboration and mutual respect
• Actively contribute to Department activities, meetings, and workplan including ad-hoc duties as required
• Act as a role model to the organisation for consumer-led and holistic care of people with lived or living experience of cancer
