Do you want to work in a flexible, supportive environment, with reasonable hours, on projects that seek to balance aesthetics and significant social benefit?
EBD Architects is looking for a detail-focused, experienced Project Architect —with a minimum of 10+ years’ local experience—who will invest in and gain benefit from this growing architectural practice, with the potential for future ownership.
We are a small practice, with a balanced interest in the social and aesthetic impact of our work. Our approach to human-centred, research-led design is gaining attention and, as a result, we have repeat clients in a range of health, aged care, social housing, workplace, and education projects.
We work directly with our clients and end-users, not developers, and we invest significant time in the early briefing and later detailed design stages of each project, and follow up with rigorous post-occupancy analysis.
We need someone with great design judgement and effective time-management skills, who can work both independently, and collaboratively, without micro-management.
You will have the opportunity to participate in all stages of the design and delivery process but must have a love for the craft of architecture. You will have good design judgement, with a focus on innovative, detailed design and documentation. We will support you with a generous salary--commensurate with experience, for a 4.5 day week, and you can choose to work one day a week from home. You will also receive regular mentorship, so that you can develop skills in areas that you choose to grow into.
Technically, you will have a detailed knowledge of the Victorian planning process, the NCC, and construction practice. You will also be proficient in the use of REVIT and Enscape, with the ability to produce excellent presentation material, client reports, and construction drawings.
