Job description

As our Senior Project Lead, reporting to the General Manager of People Consulting & Projects, you will support the pre-opening for The Star Brisbane and consult with stakeholders at all levels, providing excellent project and change management expertise across planning, and execution phases.

The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen's Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia's newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a close-knit team to deliver, and to build relationships with the wider business to implement project plans and ensure key deliverables align with our People strategy and the strategic objectives for the Star Brisbane!

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Working closely with various senior business leaders to manage the end-to-end delivery of projects related to The Star's People Strategy.
  • Measure, monitor and report on progress at clearly defined milestones to ensure the project is within deadline and budgets whilst meeting expectations.
  • Obtain buy-in from executives for all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, budget, schedule, and scope changes.
  • Deliver comprehensive updates to the Steering committee and other governance forum on the progress and risks associated with the project plan.
  • Maintain consistent communication with General Managers, Project teams and project sponsors, ensuring they are aware of progress, risks, roadblocks, and proposed mitigation recommendations.
  • Undertake Project retros and post implementation reviews to drive quality into the project management team and undertake a critical review of project processes and tools.

What we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business management, Project management or related fields.
  • 8+ years in People-related fields with most recent experience in a leadership role involved with the delivery of high-risk and large projects.
  • Experience leading organisational people programs and projects.

About us

The $3.6 billion Queen's Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium - a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.
