About the opportunity
The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbourne's first dedicated busway. These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne's east.
Laing O'Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria's toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join us on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance. Reporting directly to the head of Delivery Interface & Disruptions, you will take charge of the implementation of an interface approach to manage the connection between the Alliance and key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- You will be required to provide specialist technical advice and guidance on a range of traffic engineering related topics such as traffic modelling, planning, design and traffic management implementation, as well as general transport related assessments across the entire project.
- The ability to build, maintain and influence strong working relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders is fundamental for success in this role.
- Proactively manage the reporting of the disruptions and the disruptions KRA.
- Manage and maintain interface reporting; identifying opportunities for further enhancement
- Manage and motivate a small team, develop and mentor capacity and capability to cultivate best practice
About you
- Degree in an Engineering, Project Management or Science related disciplines preferred but not necessary.
- 7-10 years project management experience across infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous
- Extensive exposure to disruptions management and Traffic Management Planning
- Proven experience in managing complex interfaces across multidiscipline teams
