Your new role 

The primary purpose of the role is to manage specific buildings projects and lead a team of Project Managers to ensure the delivery of high quality advice and services to clients in the Barkly Region across the Building Capital Works, Minor New Works and Repairs and Maintenance programs.  

Key duties and responsibilities: 

• Manage all phases of client project delivery, including meeting all client, senior management and stakeholder reporting requirements 
• Undertake the role of Senior Project Manager on a variety of client agency projects, responsible to the Superintendent for the administration of contracts to ensure departmental policies, procedures and Northern Territory Government legislation and construction and maintenance standards are maintained 
• Provide expert project leadership to Building Project Managers to ensure client work project requirements are delivered successfully and meet budget, time and quality targets 
• Ensure the client is involved in key decision making and is fully informed at all stages of projects, including events which may affect completion dates, costs or function of the facility/project 
• Carry out all duties in accordance with Departmental WHS, EEO and environmental guidelines. 

What you'll need to succeed 

• A relevant qualification and/or experience   
• Experience in leading, managing and advising a diverse and multi-disciplined team 
• Sound communication skills, including the ability to consult, collaborate and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry and community representatives 
• Demonstrated working knowledge of procurement, contract conditions, legislation and the factors that would impact program outcomes  
• High level knowledge of building industry, design, construction and maintenance techniques 
• An ability to interact respectfully and effectively with people from diverse cultures 
• Current drivers licence 
• Commitment to travel to remote locations from time to time

This role is a Designation T6 – salary is between $111,283 - $116,512+ super, pa.
