About this role
This is an exciting new opportunity to lead a research project to help understand what influences doctors to choose to a career as a rural generalist and what factors help keep them in the rural generalist career path. There are some reporting and financial responsibilities. The role is part of a small, friendly and supportive team within the Ministry of Health.
Crown Clerk 9/10, salary from $120,859 to $133,183 plus Super and annual leave loading
What you'll be doing
In this role you will:
- Undertaking research activities including literature reviews, applications for ethics approval, consultation forums, surveys and interviews
- Managing the budget and reporting activities, mindful of timeframes and relevant stakeholder input.
- Secretariat for research working group, developing meeting papers and transcribing minutes and notes.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience to align with the role description and selection criteria.
- Demonstrated experience in developing research proposals and undertaking research activities.
- Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of working and consulting with government and non-government agencies, Aboriginal communities and a wide range of stakeholders to address sensitive and/or contentious issues.
- Demonstrated understanding of the processes for, and experience in policy development and analysis, and project management, including financial and risk management.
- High-level interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated capacity for self-directed work and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
