Specifically, you will be working with Projects Officers on ethics applications and privacy impact statements, reviewing third party manuscripts, novating agreements with the researchers whilst demonstrating sound advisory, analytical and policy development skills to ensure appropriate legislative requirements and policy guidance are maintained in accordance to the research, Ethics and Data Governance functions.
You will also sit on the Data Governance committee, representing the Research Ethics and Data Governance team in meetings with the directors and work with the general practise advisory group to ensure they are complying with the data custodian requirements.
To be considered for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident, and ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline combined with significant experience within relevant environments such as health data, health policy, privacy, ethics, law and/or governance.
- Experience in health data Research Ethics, governance, data management, or data policy areas.
- Experience in delivering complex projects and high-quality experience in policy development at a national or state level and preferably within a healthcare context.
- Experience in analysing data or information and utilising the data to make sound decisions, analysing evidence and developing conceptual models and approaches to complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to foster positive stakeholder relationships

Selection criteria
- An extensive and comprehensive understanding of Australia’s healthcare system, including sound understanding of current primary health care safety and quality issues and Research Ethics and Data Governance requirements.
- Extensive high-level health data Ethics and governance expertise including demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of Data Governance frameworks.
- Excellent policy development and project management experience relevant to quality use of medicines.
- Highly developed analytical skills and conceptual ability, with the demonstrated capacity for sound judgement and innovative problem-solving.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to prepare high quality documents and submissions, present to a range of audiences, and explain complex technical and clinical issues simply.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, in particular, an excellent ability to consult and negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- A high level of knowledge and comprehensive understanding of key safety and quality issues relevant to medication safety.
This role is Sydney CBD based and offers flexible working arrangements (3 days in Office, 2 days’ Work from home). Australian Permanent Resident is welcomed.
