This is a dynamic role. You will need well-developed problem solving skills, high level clinical skills and ability to provide consultative advice. The role also assists other senior staff to ensure our psychology team is supported, engaged, and resourced to provide optimal patient care. There is the opportunity for either a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our team.

The role:
In accordance with organisational policies and the professional code of conduct of the Psychology Board of Australia, the Psychologist is expected to exercise high level initiative and professional judgement whilst undertaking specialised psychological services, including evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions for patients of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH), including inpatient and outpatient services (excluding Mental Health Services).

Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 15 July 2024

Salary: $120,114 - $130,181 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia
Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
Where required for a particular role:
Area of Practice Endorsement ie, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Organisational Psychology, or Sport Psychology
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

Endorsement by Psychology Board of Australia as a Clinical Psychologist and/or Clinical Neuropsychologist
Post-graduate degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology
Extensive experience in the provision of psychology services in a relevant clinical area
Registered as a supervisor with Psychology Board of Australia
