Overview

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service.

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, state-wide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.

Our services include:

  • Triage of mental health difficulties
  • Comprehensive mental health assessment
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Group programmes
  • Information provision to parents/carers and key partners such as schools, GPs, hospitals, government and nongovernment organisations

  • Lived Experience and Peer Workers
  • Nurses
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Psychologists
  • Psychiatrists

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within CAMHS Consultation Liaison, Developmental Disability team to join us as Senior Clinical/Educational Psychologist (AHP3).

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for a direct clinical case load
  • Demonstrate competency in a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions
  • Plan and co-ordinate services with other disciplines or agencies to meet health care needs of children and young people with co-existing mental health problems and developmental disability
  • Liaise with and contribute to capacity-building for other CAMHS and WCHN teams, NDIS providers and external agencies
  • Promote access and equity of services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Must hold an appropriate degree (Master’s Degree in Clinical and/or Educational/Developmental Psychology) or equivalent qualification recognised by the PsyBA
  • Must hold general registration with the PsyBA and be endorsed in Clinical and/or Educational/Developmental Psychology area of practice
  • Must hold approved supervisor status with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision
  • Experience in assessing and developing therapeutic plans with children and adolescents with developmental delay or disability
  • Strong communication skills and work with other professionals, facilitate group functions and work as a team member
