About the Opportunity:
We are currently representing a prestigious federal government organisation who are seeking an experienced Python Developer to contribute to a critical project. The role will be part of a team that uses Agile methods and test-driven development to deliver the solution, you will be reporting into the Team Leader whilst working in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
· Develop Python 3 applications within a Linux environment, ensuring adherence to performance and memory constraints.
· Utilise scientific Python libraries like NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas, with familiarity in xarray, geopandas, and Airflow being advantageous.
· Translate complex science requirements into Python implementations.
· Implement and execute test-driven development practices.
· Engage in modern collaborative software development practices, including CI/CD, Git version control, and agile methodologies.
· Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Requirements:
· Expertise in Python 3 development within a Linux environment.
· Proficiency in scientific Python libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas).
· Experience with test-driven development and collaborative software development practices.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
· Australian educational qualification or comparable overseas degree.
· Proven track record in similar roles, delivering intended results.
