- Find exclusive follows on the biggest stories in the state of NSW
- Chase down leads to get angles no one else has, that everyone else will follow
- Use social media to stay on top of topics that are trending and find ideas for stories
- Pitch and deliver unique content that will drive conversation, engagement and click-throughs across multiple platforms
- Use analytics to inform future story choices - following up popular stories with new angles
- You will be required to work Saturday and occasional work outside of usual hours to cover special events
Who are you?
- Successful news reporter with at least five years of experience in a busy digital newsroom
- Passionate about breaking stories and finding exclusive angles on the topics dominating the national agenda
- Highly motivated and full of ideas, with strong contacts that help you break yarns
- Strong writing skills and an understanding of how to use headlines and pictures to hook readers. A desire to have your stories widely read is a must
- Sound working legal knowledge
- Comfortable working independently and sourcing your own stories
- Experience in sub-editing and layout an added bonus.
- Understand SEO and analytics
