About the Caring Futures Institute

The Caring Futures Institute (CFI) is Australia’s first fully dedicated research centre for the study of self-care and caring solutions leading to better lives, better communities, better care, and better systems across the population’s lifespan. About the Role

This position is a Joint Appointment with the Adelaide Primary Health Network (APHN).  In consultation with the Caring Futures Institute, Flinders University and the APHN, and working with staff from a range of disciplines, this is your opportunity to play a vital role in in achieving our strategic goals for research, to develop and expand both the research program and reputation of both organisations at both the national and international levels.

The Senior Research Fellow will also be expected to make an independent high-quality contribution to research as a key member of the Caring Futures Institute and APHN teams.

About You

We are looking for an experienced research academic who will make high quality contributions to the project. You will be organised, focused and display exemplary time management as you successfully deliver project milestones and KPI’s.

At Level B, you will have completed a PhD in a health related discipline, or have equivalent clinical/research experience in a discipline relevant to health research

You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • An understanding of contemporary issues in health and primary care
  • Well developed interpersonal skills and the capacity to collaborate and engage with diverse stakeholders and industry partners.

At Level C, you will have completed a PhD in a health related discipline, along with experience and a successful track record in supervision of Higher Degree Research Students

You will also demonstrate:

  • Evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage), at a national level, in an area aligned to the research strengths in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the CFI, including evidence of sustained high-quality publications with first authorship and attraction of competitive grants.
  • Experience in a senior academic or research leadership position with relevant Research Project management experience.
  • Proven ability to use independent judgement and initiative, under minimal supervision, to manage, organise and coordinate activities required for the functioning of a research-intensive unit.
