The successful candidate will play a major role in the instigation, management, and operation of research activities in the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Emergency Department (ED). The incumbent will contribute to research capacity development of ED staff and students, and to research management and administrative activities, including those of service and engagement for both the university and the hospital. Independent research by the incumbent will be encouraged.Key responsibilities will include:Research and Researcher Development: Foster a strong and productive program of research in the ED that is consistent with the strategic priorities of the PAH.Support ED Staff across all disciplines to increase their capacity to undertake research.Research: Maintain quality research outputs consistent with discipline norms by publishing in appropriate refereed publications, and conference publication.Participate in seeking, obtaining, and managing research funding.Supervision: Lead the facilitation of engagement opportunities for supervisees.Supervise; along with ED staff, undergraduate and medical students, undertaking projects.Act as Principal Supervisor to Higher Degree by Research students.Citizenship and Service: Foster the departments relations with universities, industry government departments, professional bodies, and the wider community.This is a research focused position. This opportunity is available for applicants considering either full-time or part-time (minimum 60%) working arrangements.The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $132,201 - $152,202, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $154,676 - $178,076 annually.
