Senior Resident Medical Officer

You will be based at Byron Central Hospital however you will be required to work across Murwillumbah District Hospital, The Tweed Hospital and Byron Central Hospital to assist with service delivery.  This role will involve being able to work across the full range of rostered shifts including days, weekends, nights and on-call.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of the position is to provide medical care and support, as part of a multi-disciplinary team that is consistent with the level of clinical competency and experience of the appointed trainee. This includes the assessment and management of patients across several clinical departments under the supervision of senior practitioners whilst developing broad skills in clinical decision making and practice.

2. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team.
4. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and other members of the health care team.
5. Good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
7. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
