About the Role
This role report to the Engineering Coordinator and will play an integral role in supporting operations of the Road Services Unit to deliver high quality outcomes to the Council’s asset renewal programs
Duties

• Oversee WWRR license grants and approve Traffic Management Plans from contractors.
• Authorize NHVR routes and communicate them within the Council.
• Lead discussions with neighbouring councils on shared boundaries and bridge agreements.
• Advise Engineering Coordinator on achieving program goals, service delivery, and implementing procedures.
• Ensure budget compliance, develop safe work processes, and provide team leadership within the Council Engineering department.
• Assist the development of the annual 10-year maintenance plan with asset management and works teams.

Essential requirements

• Extensive relevant Local Government experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of Traffic Management Plans and related permit applications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide audience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the current issues in Local Government in Victoria(Desirable).
• Knowledge of the Technology One Council software or similar(Desirable).
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering(Desirable).
