The company has been effectively serving the Mining, Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Commercial, and Residential sectors for over 25 years. Recent upsurges in workload within the mining and infrastructure sectors have led to the requirement for a Lead Estimator at their Perth Office.
The preferred candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing project and bid strategies. You will do so by analyzing project proposals and historical cost data. Ultimately, your work will help them develop new business opportunities.

What you will bring
- You will have a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Substantial experience in Estimating within Infrastructure (Roads OR Utilities)
- Robust skills in cost planning, measurement, and leadership
- Comprehensive understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry dynamics
- Proficient computer and software skills, specifically in Microsoft Office suite and Estimating Software (required)
- Establish and nurture professional relationships with both external and internal stakeholders
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express complex ideas in a simply understood manner
- Effective organizational, planning, and strategizing capabilities
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate well with others, fostering positive and friendly working relationships across the team and providing support to colleagues as needed
- Your degree must be recognised by Engineers Australia
About the role
- Attend bid meetings and develop and execute bid strategy
- Prepare thorough and timely cost analysis
- Analyze project proposals to prepare budget and cost estimate
- Gather, update, and review historical cost data
- Conduct final review of deliverables prior to client submission.
- Communication with Clients, Management, Staff and Consultants.
- Manage client variations.
- Manage hours against project budgets. Advise and agree with line manager if any hours are
- to be non-chargeable.
- Monitor project costs to ensure the objectives of the project are achieved in accordance with
- Client requirements.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
- Provide advice on contractual claims.
- Contribute to project execution and contracting strategies.
- Update the weekly Client cost and time report.
