About the role:

As a software engineer, you will help design and develop features for our products by working closely with various stakeholders including technical leads, product managers and product designers.

Our technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, REACT, Next.js and MySQL.

About us:

Making a meaningful difference with mission-critical software that empowers communities to thrive.

ReadyTech is more than just a one-trick pony playing in one market with one product, or one customer. We re-imagine, design, develop and deliver technology to solve our customer’s diverse problems – supporting multiple businesses across a variety of markets to be ready for anything.

We’re an ASX-listed company which means we are stable, have a strong track record of sustainable growth and have a significant number of long-term customers.  So, what does this mean for you? It means we can offer you an experience that will push you to be your best, provide career-building challenges, and that will offer you numerous growth opportunities that can’t be found in any other company.

It’s an inclusive environment where there is no place for politics, where we get our heads together to solve the problems that really matter to our customers, and where we always stay focused on our north star – the communities we serve, and society at large.

You will get to:

  • Develop working software across the full stack (end to end) according to requirements and development standards
  • Contribute to feature and solution design with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assist the support and customer success team with diagnosing issues with the software and providing guidance or helping with appropriate fixes
  • Provide mentoring and guidance for junior developers in any areas of expertise
  • Continually improve domain and technical knowledge through professional development
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies
  • Monitor support channels for customer issues and queries
  • Increase quality of the codebase
  • Review and provide constructive feedback of code from other developers

More about you:

  • You possess excellent communication skills and can comfortably communicate complex technical matters to both technical and non-technical minded stakeholders
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can adapt and multi-task with ease
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, and whilst you can work well autonomously, you also enjoy working with others to achieve your goals
  • You have exceptional organisation skills, and have a keen sense of urgency and prioritisation, knowing when something can wait and when something can’t
  • You have a strong ability to design technical solutions for complex business problems.
  • You have an advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails, with a deep understanding of language syntax, conventions and best practices.
  • CSS, HTML and JavaScript Knowledge
  • An understanding of software version control, specifically with git
