Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer | Senior Ruby on Rails Developer
ScaleUp is proud to be partnering with an Australian tech company focusing on solving problems across the end-to-end advice process. Together we are seeking multiple Software Engineers that specialize in Ruby on Rails.
You will join their core platform team building out the existing platform in Ruby on Rails and be involved in several greenfield projects upcoming this year and a lot with integration across product-based development.
You'll be working on truly interesting challenges – tech domain problems, engineering issues and scalability. You will need to be motivated by problem-solving and seeing the wider impacts of your work.
ABOUT THE ROLE

• Senior Rails engineer to work on a mix of greenfield and legacy Rails projects in the financial technology industry.
• The projects range from operational in-house Rails Hotwire apps to large Rails API applications.
• Very flexible from a remote / on premises perspective. The engineering team generally spends a couple of days a week in the office, however, this is not a requirement.
• The role is predominantly working with Rails - use a number of other technologies including React, across both AWS and Azure, all of which you may need to interact with from time to time.
• You will be contributing to building a culture where technology is not merely executing the business ideas, but also feeds back into all aspects of the business from being competitive, automating operations and analysing data.

What's needed?

• 5+ years of professional programming experience
• 3+ years of commercialRuby on Rails
• Confident in finding solutions to problems and keen to learn & grow
• Strong knowledge of DRY, Single Responsibility Principle, OO, SOLID and RESTFul API design
• Experience in implementing and integrating with HTTP APIs
• Experience working in Agile
• Ideally commercial experience using some of the following: PostgreSQL, GIT version control, AWS, Continuous Integration or GraphQL

• This is a permanent full time role paying a salary of $140,000 - $160,000 + super
