What we are looking for:
We are excited to be offering an opportunity to join our team as Senior Safety Business Partner. The role requires you as an experienced senior work health and safety practitioner to be able to work collaboratively, and confidently, while professionally providing sound safety advice and education to the workforce. . Your safety compliance advice and ability to interpret legislation, setting clear expectations, using open communication and fostering a positive safety culture within the business is a key function of the position. This role is responsible to manage staff and assist with strategic safety initiatives and improvements within the Safety and Wellbeing team.
Partnering with our directorates and key stakeholders, you will be experienced and highly motivated in delivering safety and wellbeing improvements, best practice solution and effective outcomes for Council.

What you should have to apply:
Diploma (AQF 5) in WHS as a minimum
Demonstrated industry experience in line with position requirements
Excellent investigative skills
Strong safety focus and Business Partnering approach
Queensland Class “C” drivers’ licence
What’s nice to have:
AQF 6 or AQF 7 or higher in WHS
Experience or qualified Fire Safety Advisor
Experienced and/or Certified Safety Investigator
Experienced Drug and Alcohol tester
Experience in Risk Management
Experience with managing Chemicals and Chemical Manifests
Experience with Health Monitoring
Experience in internal auditing / compliance
Professional membership with Australian Institute of Health and Safety
