About the Role
The Senior Health, Safety and Wellness Partner plays a crucial role in promoting a culture of Health and safety within the organisation. This position is responsible for various aspects of Health and safety management, including policy development, incident investigation, safety audits, and compliance with regulations. The role also involves providing advice, support, and training to employees, contributing to the overall wellbeing and safety of the workforce.
Day to day, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide scheduled and ad-hoc reporting, auditing and analysis on all WHS tasks and activities
- Conduct internal HSE training needs analysis and develop & facilitate training programs as appropriate
- Monitor & control an effective and compliant Safety Management System
- Assist and manage incident investigations, risk assessments and internal audits.
- Ongoing monitoring of contractor and third party WHS requirements.
- Promote the work of the WHS Function and maintain a positive image of the team.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
The successful candidate you will be an experienced and dynamic Health & Safety professional with experience working in a not-for profit organisation or similar value and purpose-led organisations. You will have a strong technical understanding of WHS legislative requirements and experience in hazard identification and implementation of risk controls but have an empathetic and personable approach to your work and stakeholders. Key to your success will be your strong influencing capabilities. You will also have:
- Tertiary level qualifications in WHS (or related field) or equivalent experience
- Driver’s licence
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and monitoring a safety management system within a multi-site organisation
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
