About Our Client:
Our global client is a leading heavy earthmoving equipment company with significant exposure to mining and civil earthwork projects across Australia.
About the Position:
In partnership with our client, WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Senior Site Accountant for an immediate start. This is a full-time, site-based role (5/2/4/3 roster - 9-day fortnight) with flights available from Rockhampton or Townsville.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Active input into monthly contractor claims with Senior Financial Accountant (offsite)
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Active participation in development of mine site reporting with Head Office
Preparation of month end accounts and management reporting
General ledger and asset register maintenance
Partner with operational departments to support commercial decision making
Support asset management process, including input to capital expenditure projects and capitalisation of completed projects.
Skills and Experience:
Extensive post qualification experience in a similar role within the mining/heavy equipment industries
Professional accreditation and membership - CPA or CA qualified (or currently studying)
Demonstrated success as an Accountant in mining/rail/heavy industry, preferably site based
Exposure to cost analysis, budget processes and demonstrated financial accounting experience
Proven ability to build positive working relationships with co-workers and external stakeholders.
