The role:
- Plan, provide and evaluate specialist social work services to critical areas in the acute care setting.
- Mentor and supervise social work staff based on best practice in accordance with current models, professional standards and the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics.

Acute Care/Women's and Children's Services:
- The LGH social work team is comprised of clinicians from a broad variety of backgrounds and experience who work within a trauma-informed framework to promotes inclusivity, social change and empowerment and respect for diversity.
Details of Appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight starting from 25 March 2024.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $106,966 to $123,013 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW.
Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
- Full member of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Current Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Postgraduate, or progression toward post graduate qualifications relevant to the position.
- Current Driver's Licence.
Position Features:
- Clinical governance arrangements for this position are supported by the Director Allied Health Service.
- Based at the LGH, with frequent travel within Northern Tasmania.
