The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a well-established mental health service in the North West region of Tasmania with a highly skilled and passionate team of clinician's, who are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to come and join our well supported and diverse team.
We are seeking a Social Worker with experience in assessment, case management, counselling and/or therapy, and within mental health would be ideal. You would be working within a multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment with children, young people, and their families. As a senior clinician in the team, you will provide support and supervision to others in the team, whilst also providing direct care to children, young people, and families.
Our Aim:
CAMHS NW aims to provide timely access to evidence based, trauma informed treatment for children and young people (and their family/carers) who are struggling/experiencing difficulties with their mental health that is negatively impacting on them and their engagement in school, with peers and/or other aspects of their lives.
The Role:
Provide specialist social work interventions in the treatment of mental health for children and young people, including working with the family/carers
The Senior Social Worker is part of the CAMHS NW Community Team and supports the team across the NW region
Undertake comprehensive assessment, treatment, and assertive case management services, including the development and implementation of specialist treatment programs, group programs, and community education
Working with the Team Leader, assist in providing professional supervision as required, including the coordination of peer supervision programs, placements of students, and less experienced staff as required
Represent CAMHS NW and provide expert social work advice in regional and state forums as required.
Participate in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and processes based on evidence of best practice in Social Work.

Details of Appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $120,114 - $130,181 per annum + 11% superannuation
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Relocation assistance available for the right applicant
Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Degree of Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW
Current Working with Children Registration.

Current Driver’s Licence
Expertise in Child and Adolescent Mental Health
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
